The first Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting for project entitle “Demonstration on Poverty Alleviation in Thailand” under Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Special Fund

28 May 2020 (13.30-16.30) at Meeting 1, Royal Forest Department (RFD). The first Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting of the project title “Demonstration on Poverty Alleviation in Thailand was chaired by the Project Director- Mr. Somsak Sappakosonkul- (Deputy Director-General of RFD). This 5-year project (2020-2024) has supported by Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Special Fund and implemented by the Forestry Foreign Affairs Office of RFD.
The objective of the project is to stimulate community participation in sustainable forest resource management in order to reduce poverty and ensure food security for people who depend on forest resource for their livelihoods. Innovations and new knowledge, good management model (best practices) will be exchanged and expanded through knowledge sharing platforms within 6 countries in the Mekong River Basin namely; China Myanmar, Laos PDR, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thailand.
