The 21th Council Session of the International Bamboo and Rattan Organisation (INBAR)

29 Nov 2019 Director of the Foreign Forest Service Being a Thai representative to attend the 21st International Bamboo and Wai Network Council meeting (21th Council Session of INBAR) in Beijing, People's Republic of China There were attendees from 46 member countries. The meeting acknowledged the performance and progress of various projects during the past year. For Thailand, it presents activities and progress on bamboo in Thailand. Such as using bamboo as one of the alternatives to help restore forests in degraded forest areas The discovery of new drugs from bamboo leaf extract used to treat dengue fever, a dangerous disease that is common in tropical countries. Establishment of Pha-Ku National Institute And preparation for hosting the Asia-Pacific Regional Bamboo Symposium in November 2020 in Nan province and inviting INBAR member countries and interested parties to participate in the meeting. In the past year, Thailand has supported projects. Budget from INBAR is 1 project which is Study on bamboo value chain in Thailand which is expected to be completed at the beginning of 2017. 2020
